General purpose motors are widely used in pumps, blowers/fans, compressors and similar industrial applications.

These motors are of 'Fail Safe' type where the brake is released on power-on by a DC coil. Brake motors are available with manual release option also.

Flameproof Motors are used in Zone1 areas (IS 5572) where hazardous atmosphere is likely to be present continuously under normal operating conditions. These motors are certified by CMRI, approved by CCE/DGMS and covered under BIS license conforming to IS: 2148.

Increased Safety Motors are used in Zone 2 areas (IS: 5572) where hazardous atmosphere is likely to be present under abnormal operating conditions for a short period.

Crane and hoist duty motors are ideal for frequent starts/stops and reversing. They are also used for applications such as material handling, weirs and sluices, lifts of all types and auxiliary motors in rolling-mills or wherever intermittent drives are required.

Slip ring crane and hoist duty motors conform to IS: 325 for three-phase induction motors and IS: 4722 for rotating electrical machines.
